Wizz Air Skopje Marathon, announced that registration is open for the 12th edition which will take place on 8 May 2016. The 12th edition of the marathon organized by the Sport Union of Skopje, is under patronage by the City of Skopje, the Mission of the European Union and Agency of Sport and Youth. In addition to the marathon, the half marathon and the 5 km race, the organizers announced a relay marathon, maintaining 4 races on the program as planned for the last marathon.

For the relay teams of four competitors, each will run for 10 kilometers until the handover of the relay. Standard races – the marathon (42.195km), the half marathon (21.097km) and the 5km race remain a hallmark of the marathon.
As promised, because of cancelation of event registered participants in the 2015 marathon, half marathon and relay marathon, will receive free participation in the 2016 races.
