The Sports Union of Skopje – Skopje Marathon expresses its condolences over the tragedy taking place at Boston Marathon. This is a real tragedy for USA, which has to be condemned by all athletes and Marathon runners throughout the world.
“Marathons as sporting events are not violence and terrorist attack events. We call upon taking all necessary measures worldwide so that sporting events become safe both for the athletes and sport fans. We sympathize with the victims’ families and Boston Marathon organizers”, – this was stated by a representative of the Sports Union of Skopje.
We condemn this act and hope that the perpetrators will face justice. World marathons are not events for attacks but events when by doing sports we send a message for healthy lifestyle, peace, friendship and positive energy among all.
